Concrete

Concrete repair, restoration & beautification

Most concrete doesn't need to be torn out. Cracks can be repaired, crumbling steps rebuilt, worn surfaces resurfaced, and plain gray slabs turned into something you're proud of.

Fix what's failing

Repair

  • Crack repair in driveways, sidewalks, and patios
  • Crumbling and broken step repair
  • Spalled, flaking, and pitted surfaces
  • Chipped edges and corners
  • Expansion joint repair and sealing

Freeze-thaw cycles are hard on central Illinois concrete. Water gets into cracks, freezes, and widens them every winter. Repairing and sealing cracks early stops the damage from spreading.

Brick and block

Tuck-pointing and masonry repair

  • Tuck-pointing crumbling mortar joints
  • Brick and block wall repair
  • Chimney mortar repair
  • Foundation wall mortar and parging
  • Brick steps and stoops
  • Loose and cracked bricks replaced

Mortar wears out long before brick does. When joints crumble, water gets into the wall and freeze-thaw starts pushing bricks loose. Tuck-pointing grinds out the failing mortar and packs in new mortar matched to the old color, which keeps water out and keeps the wall looking original.

Foundation repair

Cracked or leaking basement walls? We inject foundation cracks, seal and waterproof walls, and brace walls that have started to bow. See foundation repair

Bring it back

Restoration

  • Resurfacing worn or pitted slabs
  • Patio and porch restoration
  • Step and stoop resurfacing
  • Cleaning and penetrating sealers
  • Garage and basement floor repair

Resurfacing puts a new wearing surface over sound concrete, at a fraction of the cost of tearing out and pouring new.

Make it look finished

Beautification

  • Epoxy garage and basement floors
  • Decorative overlays
  • Concrete staining
  • Stamped-look overlays for patios
  • Clear and color sealers

Turn a plain slab into a finished floor or patio. Epoxy floors stand up to road salt, oil, and wear, and clean up easily.

Outdoor living

Ready for more than repairs? We also build custom fire pits, paver patios, and seating walls.

Timing

Outdoor concrete work needs warm, dry weather to cure properly, so exterior repairs are scheduled spring through fall. Garage and basement floors can be done year-round. Winter is a good time to get exterior work quoted and on the calendar.

Common questions

Can my cracked concrete be repaired, or does it need replacing?

If the slab is mostly level and the cracks aren't heaving, repair and resurfacing usually work. Slabs that have sunk badly or broken into pieces may need replacing. Send a photo and we'll tell you which.

How long does an epoxy garage floor take?

Usually two to three days, including prep, coating, and cure time before you can park on it.

Do you pour new concrete?

Our focus is repair, restoration, and finishes. For large new pours we'll point you to a flatwork contractor.
